The coming month...April

Thursday, March 31, 2011

An unusually late evening post for me! I went to Boxercise today so by the time I had a bath, played with my new hair and painted my nails the evening was nearly over!

April is my favourite month of the year, why? Because it is usually sunny, it is my birthday and Easter :) There are so many bank holidays this year as well which makes it even more awesome! I'm only working 13 days in the whole month :) Here is what I'm especially looking forward to :

Turning 26 (!) on 20 April
this will probably happen but I don't care - I love bank holidays :)
sunshine - hopefully!
going to watch the X Factor tour in Cardiff on 07 April with my mam & sister
having this Peacocks, Pearl Lowe dress for my birthday from the Mister :)
a spa day with the girls on 23 April for Laura & my birthdays
Easter! Which I'm loving even more this year as it makes my birthday weekend a bank hol weekend :) Love when Easter falls around my birthday
I'm going to two parties this month, an engagement party tomorrow & a wedding evening on 22 April
opening in Cardiff - you don't know how excited I got when I saw this! I have asked Spencer for a Krispy Kreme doughnut birthday cake for my birthday haha!
 I'm also looking forward to:

Helen's hen do! I'm going to Swansea on Saturday for a hen do with the girls from work - carnage!!
The Royal Wedding - will you be watching? I will! I may have the girls around and make some pretty cakes! I really want to put bunting up but would just be ridiculed for it!

I'm aiming:

To drink at least 2 litres of water a day
To attend to the gym / exercise class AT LEAST 3 times a week
To not have many random nights out that involve spending £50 on gaining a hangover!
To have more days out with the mister.

What are you most looking forward to in April? What is your favourite month of the year and why?

Lusting after...Peacocks

Wednesday, March 30, 2011
Happy Wednesday all, over half way through now :)

I've always shopped at Peacocks, mainly because it is a lot cheaper than other high street shops. I think it has approved so much lately, it has actually got to the point that even if I could afford to shop elsewhere I would still choose Peacocks. There is so much that I want from there, I really want a MASSIVE Peacocks spending spree to buy loads of pretty dresses. If I was to go on this spending spree I would buy....
£25 Peacocks
£20 Peacocks
£20 Peacocks
£20 Peacocks
£22 Peacocks
£20 Peacocks
£22 Peacocks
£16 Peacocks
£16 Peacocks
£16 Peacocks
£15 Peacocks
£8 Peacocks
£3 Peacocks
£7 Peacocks
£6 Peacocks
£6 Peacocks
£5 Peacocks
So, as you can see there is quite a lot that I want! If anyone has a spare £250 I'm not too proud to accept donations haha!

On another note, when shopping in Boots earlier I was given a 1/2 price sunglasses voucher, it expires on 03 May 2011 and includes prescription sunglasses from Boots Opticians. If anyone wants this let me know and I will pop it in the post.

How my Garra Rufa Fish Pedicure went...

Tuesday, March 29, 2011
As you may have seen on Twitter I dragged Spencer off to have our feet nibbled by fish on Sunday! I purchased the vouchers a while ago through Groupon, we got the vouchers for £7 instead of the £20 it usually costs, I had £6 credit in my account so thought I'd go for it!
We had it done in Sun Angels in Lakeside, Cardiff. This is the description from their website:

"Dip your feet into a warm pool of water and enjoy the a traditional eastern beauty therapy. The toothless Garra Rufa will nibble away all the unsightly dead skin, leaving you with smooth and refreshed soles.

Hundreds of hungry fish will create a relaxing massage sensation"

I think that "hundreds of [hungry] fish" is a bit of an exaggeration! There didn't really seem to be that many fish in there, obviously there were loads but when I've seen photos of other people having this done there always looks as if there are more fish on their feet than there were on ours.

This aside I highly recommend this treatment and this salon. The salon was a bit difficult to find. When we finally found it we went in and were seen to straight away. The salon is clean and they seemed very up on their hygiene. We had to soak our feet in warm water before dipping, we were given clean towels and had to scrub our feet when we removed them from the water. Straight away they put clean water in the bowl things and put new towels out. We then had to slowly put our feet into the water tank!! The woman explained what we had to do and was very nice. We slowly put our feet in and instantly the fish were all over them! At first it felt horrible! Really tickly and just weird! After the initial shock though it was lovely! So relaxing. We were in for half an hour.

This isn't a miracle cure, I still have a lot of dry skin on my feet (mine are very, very dry) but my feet did feel a lot softer afterwards and I had a lot of dry skin peeling off my feet. I would imagine that if you had this done as a regular part of your routine it would be very beneficial. My local beauty salon have just started doing it so I may go find out how much it costs and possibly book another!

If you've been debating having this done I say yes, go get it done! It is definitely an experience worth having!

Eyeko Discount

Hi girls

Just a quick post to let you all know that Eyeko are currently running a 25% discount offer. This ends at midnight on Thursday 31 March 2011. To claim the discount simply enter SPRING at checkout. Alternatively you can use my ambassador code, E14173, you will receive a liptastik hot lips for free on a spend of over £15 - this is usually £6.50!  Bargain central!

I recently reviewed the Eyeko Big Eyes mascara, you can view the review here, I LOVE this mascara! It costs £8.95 so I suggest buying it now with the 25% discount! This is a very popular mascara at the moment.

They also do some fab gift sets which are all reasonably priced. So, go check Eyeko out! Don't forget discount code SPRING or ambassador code E14173.

Please note that I will receive 15% commission on all orders placed with my ambassador code, however, the minimum monthly payout is £5, if I don't hit that in a month I loose what I've made, so it is highly unlikely that I will benefit to you purchasing with my code.

Recent Internet Hauls

Monday, March 28, 2011
Happy Monday evening all :) I'm generally happy on a Monday evening as I have survived the worse day of the week. It has been a horrific day in work, the computers weren't working properly until 4pm! I was doing the jobs I should of done at 9am at 4pm today! Nightmare! Thankfully between re-starting my computer and numerous phone calls to the IT guys I had plenty of other work to get on with! I've bought a few things off t'internet lately so thought I would share :)

First up, Joy:

Cupcake Cases
The owl cushion is for Mother's Day, my mam LOVES owls! I couldn't resist this cushion when I saw it, it is gorgeous!! Annoyingly they haven't got it on their website any more, so apologies if you were interested in purchasing! I have however found a very similar (possibly the same) cushion on amazon for £10.05 - annoyingly less than what I paid for mine! When ordering this cushion I saw these cute cake cases and at £1.50 I couldn't resist!

Next up ASOS:

Watch
I got this with my ASOS Groupon, it was £25 when I bought it but is now on sale for £20. As you can see it comes with a 12 month guarantee, I wasn't aware of this so was quite impressed! I need to have some links taken from it annoyingly. I wear a watch to cover my tattoo in work, as this one is too big it doesn't cover it up very well! Overall though I am very pleased with this and can't wait to start wearing it!

The Body Shop:

I recently came across a code for 50% off everything on the Body Shop website (excluding gift sets) so obviously I had to place an order! I've always suffered with my skin, it seemed to clear up last year but unfortunately the spots seem to be back with vengeance! I'm hoping that by adding a few of these Tea Tree products into my daily routine my skin will eventually clear up! I've been using them for about a week now and my skin is still pretty bad, but I am due to come on soon so it isn't really a good time to test these products!

Last up, ebay:

The Sweet Scent of Home - Ebay Shop
I like to use a laptray for my laptop, unfortunately my old faithful Spongebob laptray kept sicking up polystyrene balls so had to be thrown out :( This little cutie cost just £6.99 on ebay. I also bought a tripod from ebay which I didn't think to take a photo of, I'm really pleased with it, I'm still getting used to using it but so far, so good! This cost just £9.99 from Digitals Diverse. I would recommend both sellers as both shipped quickly and were well packaged. Speaking of which, I must go leave feedback!

This has now left me broke!

Week in Photos #4

Sunday, March 27, 2011
I hope everyone has had a lovely weekend, I know its not over yet so I hope you are still having a good weekend! I'm going to have my feet nibbled by fish (:-/) a little later so am doing this post earlier than usual. I've had a sober weekend for the first time in ages! I feel so good for it! It has been a lovely sunny week, then typically went dull yesterday when I was off work and is dull again today! I still went ahead and had my BBQ for lunch yesterday, I predict that it will start raining next week and that is it for our summer!!

So here it is, my week:

slight loss this week, still not good enough, I'm the world's worst dieter!

the temperature in the week when I was stuck in work
my sister is back from Scotland so we gave our mam her 'belated' birthday present - X Factor tickets - she was so chuffed!
loving the Instagram app! Thanks to Superficial Girls - without you I wouldn't know of its existence!
whoops, Spencer had a couple of squares, I ate the rest
see, rain due, we've had our summer!
thankfully we had a BBQ yesterday! (I forgot to take a photo, this is from Google images)
sausage & egg omelette - yum :)
temperature today (day off)
more chocolate :-O
I like to use my laptop on a laptray, unfortunately I had to say RIP to Spongebob this week, he started sicking polystyrene balls and couldn't be saved this time :(
hello pretty new laptray :)
new footstool

I finally watched this film, pretty good ain't it!
