O & F OTN 9.6.11 - Meal

Friday, June 10, 2011
Happy Friday :) Is everyone looking forward to the weekend? I'm having another quiet one, I've strangely been enjoying the quiet weekends lately, so unlike me!

Spencer and I bought a Groupon for a meal at The Farmer's Daughter in Newport ages ago, we finally used it last night! We had a three course meal for £26 - bargainous! The place and the food was amazing, highly recommended! If another Groupon comes out for them I'm there!

It was a lovely day so I wore my maxi dress, inspired by Rai I teamed it with a mis matching cardi, and I like, what do you think of the combo?

Excuse my dodgy facial expressions, it was a rush!
Also excuse the mess of my house, we're having a clear out!

Outfit
Dress & Cardi - Peacocks
Ring - Primark

Face
Foundation - Rimmel 25 hour applied with Sigma F80
Powder - Rimmel True Match blended with Sigma F15
Blush - Benefit Posie Tint
Lips - All for Eve by Daniel Sandler
Eyelids - 17 Glitter Eyeliner rubbed in with Sigma E25
Eyelashes - Avon Super Extend Mascara

Talking of Groupon have you seen today's amazing deal? For £49 two people get an overnight stay at Park Inn, Walsall, dinner, breakfast and admission to either West Midlands Safari Park or Cadbury World - awesome right! I'm currently trying to convince Spencer that we have a spare £49!

Tag : What's in my Make up Bag

Sunday, June 5, 2011
A long, long time ago (it seems like ages anyway!) Emma over at Cupcakes you say....? tagged me to do this post. Sorry for taking so long Emma! I've been meaning to do it for ages but just kept forgetting!

I don't have a make up bag as such, I just chuck all my make up in a drawer.

There is a make up bag in said drawer but most of the stuff in there is stuff I hardly use, its just where I keep all the smaller stuff. I thought for this post I would just show you a few of my favourite products from said drawer.

The Body Shop bronzer
Rimmel Lasting Finish 25 Hour Foundation
Eyeko Big Eyes Mascara (evenings)
Avon Super Extension Mascara (days)
Rimmel blusher (free gift set from promotion in Boots)

Collection 2000 liquid concealer
All for Eve Lipstick by Daniel Sandler

I tag all of my followers who would like to take part, if you do take part then please let me know by commenting with the link - I love nosing in people's make up bags!

Monthly Summary May

Friday, June 3, 2011
Hi girls (and guys?), firstly ITS THE WEEKEND!!! Yay! Secondly ITS SUNNY!! Double yay! I thought I would show you a few of the things that I have been appreciating over the past month.

The Body Shop Tea Tree range - I've been using these for a while now, this is actually the first time I've used a toner (tut tut), now I'm not sure if its the whole range combined or the fact that I'm now cleansing, toning and moisturising but something is really working for my skin! I am very spot prone and they have cleared up loads since using these products. As I type this I have three huge spots on my face but these are the first in a while, I have just changed my pill so are uncontrollable hormonal spots unfortunately!

Neutrogena Oil Free Moisturiser - This moisturiser soaks straight into my skin which is ideal for me. With other moisturisers that I have used I feel as though they leave my skin quite greasy, I have very greasy skin so this is not good! With this one it absorbs straight in and leaves my skin matte. It hasn't prevented my skin getting greasy throughout the day, but it works well. The only downside for me is the packaging, it is so thin that if you knock it it falls over! Really annoying!

All for Eve Lipstick by Daniel Sandler - I received this in my May Glossy Box (you can see the swatches on that post) and I love it! I've never been one for lipstick, always glosses, but have recently started experimenting with lipsticks. I would never have dreamt of wearing a lipstick quite as bold as this (bright red!) but I actually love it on, granted I do pat it off a bit with a tissue as I'm not that brave!

Alterna Hair Caviar - Another product from the May Glossy Box that I am loving! This smells amazing! A few quick squirts of this product in my hair leaves my hair feeling so soft and bouncy, as for the anti-aging effects that is something that I really can't comment on but I do know that it really does give my hair that extra little bounce that it needs.

Marc Jabocs Daisy Eau So Fresh - Spencer bought me this perfume for my birthday, its so cute. It came in a set with a refill bottle. The fragrance is perfect for the summer, as the name would make you believe. The bottle is adorable.

Titanic - I watched Titanic for the first time in ages last weekend, I thoroughly enjoyed it! I remember watching it in the local cinema when it first came out, I was probably about 14, we spent the entire film having a sweet fight with some boys from school! It is quite different watching it as an hormonal 26 year old, lets just say, there were tears and there was a lot of abuse hurled at Channel 4 due to the inappropriate adverts!

Iceland (the shop not the country!) - these £2 pizzas, no need to say any more, just look at the picture!

Isle of Wight - Spencer and I went for a couple of days at the beginning of the month, it was the first time I had ever been, it is such a beautiful, peaceful place. I can't wait to go again!

The girls - I love each and everyone of my friends, they are such an amazing bunch and we have so many giggles together!

Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, Cardiff - they have opened up a new Krispy Kreme coffee shop in Cardiff, about time we were able to purchase these babies in Wales! Emma and I made a trip to Cardiff especially to visit, it was her first KK and she was very impressed!

Looking forward.... this month I'm going to Cardiff for one of the girls birthdays, which I'm very excited for! I'm also taking a trip to London with the 'fella to see Glee at the O2! Really, really can't wait for that one! Hopefully there is a lot more sunshine to come this month too.

Have a good weekend all, nearly time for the BGT results! I really hope that Michael gets through, we watched his audition so it would be lovely to see him make the final!

Glossy Box No.1 - What I received, swatches and thoughts

Thursday, May 19, 2011
Hi all, I received my first Glossy Box today :) It didn't disappoint! I had a feeling it would be arriving today so was quite relieved when my friend text to say she couldn't make Boxercise today, that meant I could get straight home from work and play! My face dropped when I saw a 'while you were out' card, thankfully it was telling me that my parcel was across the road! Apologies if you have seen this post a thousand times elsewhere but I'm posting about it anyway as I love it so much! Here is what I received:

cute packaging :)

What I think of the products :

Como Shambhala Invigorate Lotion

This product is very moisturising, another plus is that it is free from parabens, petrochemicals, artificial colour, artificial fragrance and Sodium Lauryl Sulphate. The downside for me personally is that I find the smell quite pungent - I won't be repurchasing due to this.

All for Eve Lipstick created by Daniel Sandler - Eve Red

I LOVE this! I have never been brave enough to try a red lipstick before, I can see this being a real advantage to the Glossy Box as I will be trying products that I would never usually consider. The product is described as 'bold and beautiful' and I have to agree! What better excuse to repurchase than the fact that buying this product helps women fight cancer!

Bionova Lab - Bioactive Cleanser for normal/dry skin

This really is a miniature product! It has a lovely fragrance, nothing too much just a hint of a fragrance. It feels lovely on the skin and they say it 'removes all traces of impurities without damaging the skin's natural barrier system'. Sounds good to me! I can't really comment on whether or not I would repurchase as it is a product I would have to finish to really know how good it is. However, I would usually purchase products for sensitive skin.

Alterna - Caviar Anti-Aging Rapid Repair Spray

Again this is quite a generous size for a sample. It has a lovely fragrance and is said to be a 'vitamin packed finishing spray that immediately transforms the look and feel of hair.' You can use it throughout the day to restore vibrancy. I wouldn't like to comment on this after using it for a while.

NARS - Orgasm Illuminator

I'm sure that you all know of this product already! This is the first time I've tried NARS and I must admit, I'm impressed! I've only tried it on my hand so far as you can see in the swatches above. It blends in so nicely and has such a lovely shimmer with just a hint of colour. When I first put it on my hand it looked as though it would be way too dark for me, but after blending it goes lovely! I probably won't be repurchasing this purely down to the cost of it.

If you haven't yet heard of Glossy Box you can subscribe here. It costs £10 a month and every month they send you five high end samples. Bearing in mind that in this package I had two full size products I think this is quite good! The NARS retails at £21.50 and the Lipstick at £10.50, so in my £10 box I had over £32 worth of products! Bargain!
