ELF Studio Matte Lip Colour Swatches

Wednesday, September 7, 2011
I'm going to start this post with an apology! I am so sorry about the poor quality of these photos! Its quite difficult to get used to the light now that it is so much darker. I wasn't planning on doing this post but an email just landed in my inbox with a very good discount on these lip colours so I thought I would share it!

You may recall a while ago that I reviewed the ELF Matte Lip colour in Tea Rose, and I loved it! ELF recently had another 50% discount so I ordered all the other available shades in their matte lip colours. I'm not going to go into a full review with this post as I reviewed the Tea Rose previously and these are the same, just different shades!

The other colours I ordered were Natural, Coral and Praline.

Swatches left to right Natural, Coral, Praline

 Natural
 Coral
Praline

I actually love all of these colours, they are all nice light day time colours. Fingers crossed that they'll bring out some more dramatic evening colours shortly.

The reason for the rush post and dodgy photos... ELF have an offer on which expires at 3pm tomorrow. These are all available for £1 / €1, they usually retail at £3.50 but with this offer you could get all four for £4 - bargain right!

To take advantage of this offer add the lip colours to your basket and enter 'MATTELIP' at checkout where the discount will be taken into place.

Will you be taking advantage of this offer?

Review : ELF Matte Lip Colour - Tea Rose

Wednesday, August 24, 2011
I recently purchased one of ELF's new Matte Lip colours from their studio range, I bought it when they had the 33% discount so only paid something like £2 for it! It is available full price for £3.50 which is still a bargain!

The packaging is nice and sleek, the product twists up. I've had a few friends asking what it is when I've applied it, so the packaging does seem to draw people in! You get 1.8g of product.

The top swatch is blended and the bottom is the product drawn straight on, the top swatch is very true to how it looks on my lips.

I don't tend to go for light lip products but this colour really drew me in, and I'm glad that I gave into temptation.

This colour for me is lovely for day to day wear.

I use lip balm way too much which means that when I'm not using it my lips become very dry, I debated buying this product because I thought it would be very drying being matte. I was wrong. This keeps my lips really nice and moist and can be worn all day without the need to apply lip balm, which for me is a big thing!

The lipstick has great lasting power which I really didn't expect for £3.50!

You can buy this here, ELF are currently running an offer for free postage on a spend of over £10.

Have you tried this product? What is your favourite colour? I may order more!

Rouge Bunny Rouge Goody Bag

Thursday, July 28, 2011
A while back I was lucky enough to win a Rouge Bunny Rouge goody bag via GlossyBox's Twitter. I was very excited to receive this as I loved the Rouge Bunny Rouge lipgloss that I received in my June GlossyBox.

My goodies arrived packaged in the normal GlossyBox outer packaging, which confused me somewhat as I hadn't long received my GlossyBox, I opened it to reveal the Rouge Bunny Rouge bag along with a lovely card from GlossyBox congratulating me.

Inside my goody bag I had a Decadent Duo in Flamenco Duende and a Long Lasting Eyeshadow in Unforgettable Oriole.

The eye shadow is described as a Delicate, metallic, white gold. Perfect as a highlighting eye shadow or full on dazzle effect for the evening.

As you can see the eye shadow is a lovely golden colour. This is very pigmented and as with all Rouge Bunny Rouge products the packaging is to die for! I don't want to use it because I don't want to ruin it!

You can buy it from Zuneta for £22.00.

This decadent duo is described as Creamy, sheerest, delicate honey-peach-beige lipgloss, with a hint of glitter paired with a silky, delicate illuminating tawny liquid blush.

As expected this lipgloss is gorgeous! I'm not so sure on the blush yet, I'm not really a fan of liquid blushers to be honest so can't really comment fairly on this. I will continue to play around with it as I can see that it does have a lot of potential.

You can buy this from Zuneta for £28.00.

Overall I adore Rouge Bunny Rouge products, being on the tight budget that I am I will not be repurchasing these products. If there was an amazing offer for Rouge Bunny Rouge, for say 75% off, then I would rush out and buy it all!! As that is highly unlikely I will continue to admire the gorgeous packaging of these products and use them for special occasions.

Thank you so much GlossyBox and Rouge Bunny Rouge for holding this giveaway and for picking me as a winner!

please note that even though I didn't pay for these products I was never asked to blog about them, I decided to share them with you as I genuinely do like the products. The views expressed are my own, personal views.

Eyeko Review

Monday, June 27, 2011
Hi all, three posts in one day - wow, you can tell I've been trying to avoid housework! I haven't really done a 'proper' post today so I decided I'd put this up too. I ordered some stuff from Eyeko a while ago with the Groupon deal.

 My goodies :)

"Create a flawless base with Eyeko's 3-in-1 Cream
Moisturiser, Highlighter & Eye Cream in 1!
Infused with skin perfecting light reflectors, antioxidants and Jojoba Oil for a radiant, clear complexion.
Eyeko says: "To get that A-list glow skip foundation and use Eyeko Cream all over focusing on the eye and cheek area for lit from within skin."

I actually love this product! As you can see from the swatches it leaves a lovely shimmer, almost glow, on your skin. It isn't the best moisturiser I've ever used but it does sink in without leaving the skin greasy. This is lovely to be used as a base under make-up or as a highlighter over make-up.

swept across the two colours applied with supplied brush

"NEW! Baked pressed powders highly pigmented with finely milled pearlescent shimmer for a long-lasting flush of colour.  Each double-sided compact features duo colour blush on one side and mirror and mini-blush brush on the other, perfect for touch ups on the go.

Make Out Blush
Make your cheeks pop with 3D pink colour loaded with pearl to give a 2 in 1 colour and highlight effect."

I like Eyeko blushers, and this one isn't any exception. When I first received it I thought it would be too dark for me but it isn't. This really is a lovely colour. I wouldn't recommend using the supplied brush as it is quite scratchy.

"Make way for Eyeko London Lips Lip Gloss poured into pretty tubes stamped with iconic London images. Long-lasting colour and non-stick shine make for smooth application in a choice of 3 sheer and 3 cream blends. Eyeko London Lips are sweetly scented with a fruity fragrance and available in six lust-worthy shades.

Primrose Hill
A pretty lilac shimmer for girls on the go. This suits-all shade is ultra flattering."

This lipgloss came free as I entered my ambassador code. I do love Eyeko lipglosses so was pleased to receive this. I always find that the fragrance is lovely, they remind me of bubble gum! This lipgloss has a lovely sheen to it but not much colour, for me it is a nice day lipgloss.

"Go au naturel with just one coat of pinky-beige or layer up for a mannequin mani."

There isn't really much to say about this as the picture says it all! It is a gorgeous colour and two coats gives a nice opaque finish.

Overall I am very pleased with my order. I haven't yet tried the mascara but will be sure to pop a review of that up with pictures! I have high hopes for it as I loved the Eyeko Big Eyes Mascara. I do really like Eyeko products but I think they are a little overpriced, which is why I tend to wait until an offer comes out and then order a few things. The polish, mascara and blush were all part of a gift set that is no longer available. I ordered the cream alongside this gift set and the lipgloss was a free gift for entering my ambassador code E14173. This week's ambassador gift is Eyeko Super Star Lip and Shine - feel free to use my code if you place an order.

Review : Barry M Lip Paint - Tough of Magic

Tuesday, June 14, 2011
I first saw this lip paint when Kirsti reviewed it, I knew then that I had to try it!

If anything I needed this just for the shock factor! I love the look on people's faces when I casually apply green to my lips!

Barry M say "A waterproof formula with added Aloe Vera stays on for up to 8 hours. Depending on the alkali level of your lips, determines just how pale or rich the colour will go."

I absolute LOVE this product! It goes a really bright pink on me, I did get scared on first application as it kept getting brighter and brighter!

Didn't go very bright on hand.

BRIGHT pink on lips! I love it!  If you take a look at Kirsti's review you will be able to see the difference in the colour on me compared to her.

The lipstick applies clear and then develops quite rapidly. As with all Barry M lipsticks the packaging is a win for me. I find a lot of lipsticks quite drying on my skin but this one is actually quite moisturising.

I would say though that this is more of a lip stain than lipstick. I even struggled to remove the swatch from my hand! After washing my hands several times and a shower there was still a very faint trace of it the next day! The one night that I wore it out I was very naughty and slept with my make up on, my lips were still bright pink in the morning! This doesn't put me off at all but I know it may some people.

You can buy this product from Barry M for just £4.49, it is also available in some Superdrug and Boots stores.

Will you be snapping this up or do you already own it? I would love to see how it comes out on a few other people!
