OOTD & NOTD : Children in Need - Something Spotty

Saturday, November 19, 2011
Yesterday we had a dress down day in work and had to wear something spotty. We had to donate £2 to Children in Need and were then allowed to wear our own clothes. I did my nails spotty as I didn't think I had any spotty clothes, then I remembered my bargain £5 polka dot dress from Asda.

Dress - ASDA
Belt, Cardigan & Boots - Primark
Tights & Socks - H&M
Brooch (barely seen) - Dainty Roses

ELF White
Piggy Paint Dragon Tears
Barry M Yellow
Barry M Blueberry
No 7 Devils Delight

I was very pleased with how my nails turned out, I had so many comments on them.

Did you do anything in work to raise money for Children in Need?

Collective Haul

Monday, August 29, 2011
As I'm sure you're probably aware by now, I have a huge problem, I am addicted to spending. It really needs to stop but I can't resist pretty things, especially bargains!!

I've bought loads this past week, some because they were bargains, others because I went shopping in Reading and felt obliged!

ASDA polka dot dress, reduced to £5

new bowl for Flick, she isn't a kitten but it was reduced to £2 and I'm a sucker for pink!

new bowl for Kitty, this was more expensive than Flick's at around the £5 mark, but it is so apt I had to get it!

Holland & Barrett, the box on the left was a free sample, the tablets cost around £6.50

MAC foundation and pump, around the £23 mark, you can see my review of the product and the whole MAC experience here

There isn't anywhere near me that sells OPI (not that I know of anyway). I saw Sally's in Wokingham so decided to treat myself to my first full size bottle! This cost £10.99

I needed something in which to store my palettes so decided to get the famous Paperchase butterfly letter holder, along with a little notebook to keep a note of my Weight Watchers dieting. The palette storage was about £8 and the book about £3.

The brogues were on sale in Peacocks for £8, I have a new found love for brogues so couldn't resist these! The socks were 3 for 2

Bobbles, £0.50 Primark. I'm sure the butterfly will annoy me if it doesn't fall off before I break it off!

Tan fur trimmed boots, Primark £15. These are so cute I couldn't leave them there for that price!

Necklace, £3 Primark.

PJ bottoms, £5. A few of us were eyeing these up at the Bristol blogger meet as they are so warm and comfy! (They're fleecy) I saw them again and had to buy them, I forgot to take my PJs to Reading with me so this was the perfect excuse!

PJ top, £3 Primark.

Scarf, £3 Primark

My favourite bow tights have just laddered so I picked up these two pairs, £2.50 each, Primark.

Coloured tights, £2 each Primark

Three tier cake stand, £4.99 Robert Dyas. Its pretty, enough said.

What have you been buying lately? As you can see from my purchases I am attracted to a lot of orange lately and am so pleased to see this colour everywhere.

OOTN ... because I don't always wear dresses

Monday, May 16, 2011
Hi all, would you believe that I actually wore jeans the other night - me - in something other than a dress!! I was quite shocked myself.

Jeans - Primark

Top - Peacocks

Necklace - RAK gift from Dee

Shoes - Next via Ebay

Please ignore the dodgy photos, as I went out straight from work they were taken when I got in, so I had been out for about 12 hours including my working day when these were taken!

I tend not to wear any sort of trousers except for in work because I have such an awkward figure. I went out for a meal from work on Friday and fancied a change as I feel like I'm wearing the same thing all the time. The meal was lovely, we went to the Horse & Jockey in New Inn which is buy one get one free until 6pm. I had a main and a pudding, we all split the bill so mine cost just £8! Bargain! Talking of bargains and trousers, I went to Asda earlier to get some new trousers for work, they cost £6! I couldn't believe it! I also picked up some new work shoes while I was there and they cost just £14! So I got new work trousers and shoes for just £20! Now that is Asda price!

In other news I went to see my Doctor the other day because I've been getting terrible migraines and thought that it might be down to my pill. He basically said that he was very glad that I actually took notice of this and acted on it as many people don't. Suffering with migraines when on the pill is treated very seriously as it could lead to a stroke! So if any of you are taking the combined pill and get regular migraines please go to see your GP. They have now put me onto the mini pill instead, which is better as (fingers crossed) no periods!!

I hope you are all well :)

After seeing the fab 'newspaper' effect nails I had to try it out for myself!! I first read about this here. (by the way if you love nail art follow, follow, follow!) I didn't have any vodka or surgical spirits so attempted it with white vinegar - the effect is no where near as good but it'll do for now! I will have to remember to buy some surgical spirit to try it again properly. Here is how mine turned out :

I used George Nail polish in Frost Bite. I will attempt this again one day and hopefully achieve a better result, but I thought I'd put this up so that you can get the gist of it!

OOTD 26 March 2011

Hi, hope you're all having a fab weekend so far.

The sun has had his hat on all week, then typically, when I'm not in work, he changes his sun visor for his wooly hat & scarf, it was so much colder today and not very sunny at all! We didn't let it stop us though, we still had a BBQ! Stuck our warm cardies on and away we went! It was lovely too! I figured I'd still wear a kinda summary outfit too, photos below :

all photos can be enlarged by clicking

Bracelets, dress & daps, Peacocks
Double Flower ring, Primark
Single Flower ring, necklace & heart earings Temporary Secretary
Hair clip, New Look (part of set)
Belt, Asda (I think, it is quite old!)
 BLOOPER ALERT!!!!
I'm still getting used to using my new tripod so here is one of many bloopers. I chopped my head off and Kitty wanted to show you all her OOTD, black and white fur today!!

Please ignore my awful poses and facial expressions, I'm still getting used to this whole posing business!

I'm now going to chill with my big bar of Cadbury Dairy Milk and some Dr Pepper, cause I'm cool like tha'!!

Rainbow Crackle Effect Nails

Sunday, March 13, 2011
Today I have been totally inspired by Zoe's post over at London Lip Gloss. Her nails just look so AMAZING! I had to whip off my existing polish and give this a go straight away! It is very easy to do and the results are fab, I keep looking at them and smiling!

I started by applying different coloured stripes (very messily!)
then went over them with some Barry M Nail effects & a clear top coat when they had dried
tidied up a bit around the edges, and voilĂ ! So simple but so effective.

Today I am wearing two of the polishes that I won in Clare's giveaway :) These are by George at Asda. I painted them last night and they are slightly chipped today but mine always chip after a day of typing in work. They have actually done quite well considering how I bang away at the keyboard in work!
